Ready Aim Firearms Safety Inc.

Ready Aim Firearms Safety Inc. offers the very best of firearms safety training for both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Courses.  We also offer the Ontario Hunter Education Program. 

Our Canadian Firearms Safety Course (long guns) is 8 hours in duration, starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. and is followed by the mandatory, legislated, Canadian Firearms Program written test and practical gun handling examination. The cost for this course is $192.10 after applicable HST and this includes the cost of your examination. Courses must be paid in full upon booking.


Our Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (hand guns) is an additional 6 hours in length, starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m. if it is taken within 30 days of successful completion of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course. This course is also followed by a written test consisting of 50 true or false and multiple-choice questions as well as a practical firearms handling examination.  You need to take this course in order to get your "RPAL" Firearms Licence. This course costs an additional $146.90 including HST and it can only be taken after successful completion of the Canadian Firearms Safety (long gun) "PAL" course.  This course must also be paid in full upon booking.

We run combination CFSC/CRFSC courses on almost all weekends and also schedule combination classes during week-days.  Class sizes vary from 8 minimum to12 students maximum so that you get plenty of time for one to one instructor-student interaction. All classes start with a course overview, introduction to all training firearms and preliminary safe firearms handling demonstrations by your instructor.  Ready Aim Firearms Safety Inc., uses state-of-the-art audio and video instruction techniques and has an inventory of over 50 Non-Restricted and Restricted training firearms.

Please note that as of June, 2015 individual "Challenges" of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course has been discontinued by the Director of the Canadian Firearms Program.


Hunting Licence and Hunter Education:

The Ontario Hunter Education course consists of 10 hours of classroom instruction during which you will learn about safe, ethical hunting practices, ecology and habitat, identification of wild game, wild game habits and life cycles.   You will understand the value of proper shot placement, tracking, field dressing (including care and consumption of game meat), respect for the wilderness, private property and relevant hunting laws and regulations with respect to use of firearms and archery equipment.   In addition, students learns how to survive in the wilderness, choice of appropriate clothing, overland navigation and wilderness safely.   A 70 question, multiple choice, open book written exam follows the classroom instruction. The course is open to students ages 12 years and older and costs $195.00 plus HST. This fee includes an amazing hot lunch, your final examination and student manual.  This course must be paid in full upon booking in order to gaurantee your seat.


Please note, courses can only be cancelled upon receipt of 8 days prior notice, verbal or written, to Ready Aim Firearms Safety.  In such cases, full refunds (less $20.00 administration fee, per course) will be made for course costs. Cancellations made within 8 days of a schedualled course will result in a $100.00 administration fee, per course, being applied befor refunding the remaiining amount.  Students who are booked for a course and fail to attend, without any notice at all, will forfeit the entire cost of their course(s).


Effective January 1, 2017 the Wild Turkey licence will be included in the regular day of Hunter Education Program course training standards. Students will  no longer have to purchase a Wild Turkey training DVD, nor will they have to write a separate examination in order to lawfully hunt WildTurkey in Ontario in either the Spring or the Fall seasons. Passing the Ontario Hunter Education Program will now qualitfy students to also hunt wild turkey.


If you are ill on or near course day please see your family physician for a note in order to be excused from class with NO monetary penalty.  In an effort to limit the spread of cold and flu viruses, Ready Aim Firearms Safety Inc., will be pleased to reschedule your courses into the next mutually agreeable dates.  Our classroom is small and intimate.  Instructors and students interact together in close proximity of one another, handling all of the same training firearms.  Please be considerate to your Instructors and fellow students by simply getting a Doctor`s note and excusing yourself from class.  Students who arrive for class exhibiting obvious symptoms of a cold or flu (coughing and sneezing etc.,) will be asked to leave the premises.  No course registration refunds will be considered at this time and a cancellation fee of $50.00 per course will be incurred for re-booking new courses.  All course cancellations which are done at the request of the student will incur a $20.00 administration fee (per course cancelled) in order to cover Merchant Services charges already applied to the initial registration transaction.  This administration fee will apply regardless of amount of notification given by the student. 

Our Instructors

Our lead instructor, company founder Tony Cooper, is also the former Deputy Chief Firearms Officer for Ontario as well as the past Executive Manager of the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario.  Tony has extensive experience teaching conventional firearms safe handling, tactical firearms applications, shooting range construction and design, range safety and loads of big and small game hunting gathered over 45 years of hunting experience. Tony is also well versed in firearms legislation and what it takes to successfully obtain a firearms licence for individuals and businesses in the province of Ontario and Canada.  

Our instructors are all officially designated by the Chief Firearms Officer. Some, like Tony are further provincially certified Hunter Education Instructors who are well experienced in safe hunting techniques, safe firearms handling and have a wealth of safe, ethical hunting knowledge.  They are authorities on all aspects of hunter safety and firearms related training. All of our instructors have an Ontario Designation Number issued by the Chief Firearms Officer and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.
